It’s a Canon AE-1 Program. I got it from Adorama.com for less than $200.
Manual focus. Auto exposure.
Solid! made in 1981 or so. I LOVE that old Canon logo.
It has a nifty fifty (50mm) lens with a maximum aperture of 1.8. woo hoo!!
I haven’t tried it out yet. It took me a little while to get the battery case open (the gadget was missing that helps you flip it open) and then another day to get the correct battery. I found the manual online, but I will have to read and study it a bit longer and then load some film… and then find something fun to take pictures of (hopefully something that doesn’t move much so I can figure out manual focusing!) And it should be something not too important, in case the pictures don’t come out well, but preferably something that I’d like to have pictures of.
I’m looking forward to sharing the results.
Jo:)
