folly or fabulous?

Have you heard of these woven elastic band organizers? They’re called grid-it.

I haven’t decided whether they are great or kind of silly…

I got them because I had points to redeem at amazon and I have a lot of white cords to wrangle. I’m not sure if I’ll use them both on my trip or not. I got one for my makeup and one for my cords and gadgets. I have too many cords and gadgets! It took me a while I configure everything to fit. The elastic has rubbery bits on it so everything stays secure once it’s in.

Almost all of my makeup is in stick form now. I recently got 2 double-ended eyeshadow crayons that I haven’t tried yet. I don’t wear makeup much, but you probably already figured that out. The little grid-it holder fits in my ultra lightweight toiletry bag.

The big grid-it with all the cords and gadgets has a handy-dandy pocket in the back which is just the right size for my kindle!

And the whole thing fits with my lovely thin laptop inside the Built neoprene case I found at the thrift store (VV) the other day for $2!! score! I just had to close the laptop to test that – it’s breaking news, so I’m sorry, I don’t have a picture yet.

Btw, did you notice the ugly black electrical tape on the ends of my kindle usb plug? It’s all of 3 years old and the cord is infrequently used (because the kindle is extremely energy efficient and also because I don’t use it all the time) but the insulation recently started disintegrating…

Obviously the cord is left folded like this most of the time so I would understand if the bent bits were cracking, but they are actually fine. It’s just the ends. I’m pretty gentle with my cords so I don’t know what’s up with this. I’m not impressed.

Lucky for me, hubby is well stocked with electrical tape.

Jo:)
